So today is National Fitness Day!
In the theme of all things fitness we’re sharing some of our top tips for keeping yourself in tip top condition and feeling great for work.
Exercise
Let’s start with the most obvious one, exercise. Depending on your fitness level, it is recommended that you exercise 3-5 times a week for 30-60 minutes. This can be anything from playing sports at your local clubs (here’s where we should really be throwing in the advertisement for buying our custom club ties) to a simple brisk walk to your local shops during your lunch break. Staying active can contribute to improving your health considerably and most of all you can make it fun and find opportunities to socialise at the same time!
Staying Hydrated
Staying hydrated throughout the day is something which a lot of people don’t pay enough attention to, some of our staff here are prime culprits for this one. Drinking enough water throughout the day not only keeps you hydrated but can improve your kidney function and keep your skin looking great. It’s especially important when you’re running around the football pitch or even after the young children in your school. in terms of work productivity it’s an obvious one, you’re not going to perform your best when your body is dehydrated.
Eating Well
This can be a little vague, but generally keeping your diet as balanced as possible can work wonders for your health. Now we of course don’t mean balanced by weighing up your chocolate and breakfast sandwich evenly, though it would be great if we could. A balanced diet is one full of mostly natural, unprocessed foods. We won’t go too much in to this as we would be here all day, but this can drastically improve many things from your energy and concentration levels to reducing illness, which is obviously great news for all employers if staff take less sick days!
We can all work towards improving something small each day for better overall health and productivity in the workplace, so why not start with changing something small today?
