Children in Need – about the charity
Doing our bit for Children In Need! We have raised a total of £70.50 amongst the office staff.
BBC Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity. From all the support of the public they are able to make a difference to the lives of children all across the UK.
The vision of the charity is that every child in the UK has a childhood which is:
- Safe
- Happy and Secure
- Allows them the chance to reach their potential
The charity provide grants to projects in the UK which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged. Local to people in all corners of the UK and support small and large organisations which empower children and extend their life choices.
They are currently supporting 2,400 projects all across the UK. The projects they fund help children facing a range of disadvantages, for example – poverty and deprivation; children who have been the victims of abuse or neglect or disabled young people.
Raising money in the office
We all got involved in the fund raising game ‘time to get quackers’ duck race at £2 each. The lucky winner was ‘Golden Duck’ with Laura Mellett taking first place. Feel free to also check out our support for breast cancer awareness month.

To bump up the contributions we also had a non-uniform day – here are the office staff looking relaxed.
Thank you to all our staff for contributing to this amazing charity – every penny will help towards a child in need.
And finally due to the fantastic attitude and sense of togetherness from the U.K, a remarkable figure of £50 million set the record for 2017! Maybe people of the U.K. could smash this next year – who knows?
