When considering your custom ties, you typically have two types of ties to choose from. For those of you considering your school ties, you’re spoilt for choice with four! With this in mind, we’re giving you a run through of the types of ties on offer and which option may be best for your needs.
Standard Ties
Standard ties are quite simply the ones you tie yourself and our most popular choice for school, offices and clubs alike. These are great for all ages and we supply them for ages 4/5 up to adult size.
Clip-on Ties
Customers with staff health and safety requirements and many schools opt for clip-on ties. Schools find the clip-on ties great for safety and ensuring their pupils wear their tie at an appropriate length (hands up who remembers tying their school tie extremely short!). The clips have a lever arm which is pushed upwards then pressed back down once positioned against your collar. Velcro Ties
Velcro Ties are produced for schools, generally being more popular with infant age but we can supply them for all ages. Velcro ties are a pre-tied tie which have a band fed through the knot with velcro at the back. Unlike the knots on the clip-on ties, they can be made much smaller for young children.
Elastic Ties
Elastic ties are usually required for reception and infant children who have difficulty tying a standard tie. The smallest tie/tie knot can be achieved with elastic. The tie is pre-tied and elastic is fed through the knot to make it easy for the youngest of pupils to use.
We hope this gives you an insight in to your choices, of course if you need help choosing a suitable tie type for you just let us know, we can always send you an existing sample of your preferred choice too. Just ask us!
